Marine Ecology Progress Series

MEPS is a leading ecological journal publishing research on all aspects of marine, coastal and estuarine ecology. MEPS coverage includes the whole spectrum of species, habitats, biological organisation (cells to ecosystems) and research (fundamental and applied). Priority is given to outstanding research that advances our ecological understanding.

As of 1 January 2021, MEPS is a Plan S Transformative Journal committed to increasing the proportion of OA research content by at least 5% in absolute terms and at least 15% in relative terms, year-on-year. When 75% of the research content is published OA, the journal will “flip” to full OA. During the transformation process, which lasts until 31 December 2024, MEPS may be financially supported by cOAlition S funders. See also Transformative Journals in the "For Authors" section.
